Teen Charged With Attacking School Police Officer At High School, Police Say

An 18-year-old Fairfield County teen has been arrested for attacking a school resource officer at an area high school.

Stefan Thomas, of Stratford, was arrested following an altercation at Stratford High School on Thursday, Feb. 13, said Stratford Police Capt. Frank Eannotti.

According to Eannotti, during the incident Thomas refused to leave the school property when directed by the school staff and the school resource officer.

When confronted by the school officer Thomas allegedly attacked the officer before he was taken into custody, Eannotti said. 

Thomas was charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, 92 counts of interfering with an officer, assault of an officer, disorderly conduct and threatening.

He is being held on a $100,000 dollar bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Feb. 27.

The officer was treated at a local hospital and released for injuries sustained.
